vacuum tube in battery compartment
Hello everyone, while installing a trickle charger on my 02 Boxster S, I found what I'm guessing is a disconnected vacuum tube with a 90 deg elbow attached to it in the battery compartment. The car is running well with the exception of a gurgling sound coming from the centre console when the heat is on and the revs are low (Having the water pump changed out next week). Does anyone have any ideas on what it is or if it should be connected to any thing.

Appears to be the wind shield washer hose.

That’s the battery fluid overflow line. The black elbow sticks in a hole in the battery ( if you have the factory battery or one spec’d for the Cayman.
Check the top side of the battery for the hole. |

Exactly.. if you have a sealed battery, there won’t be anywhere to put it, and that is OK. If you have a standard battery, find the vent hole and connect it ASAP! Battery accident eats paint and steel.

Looks like your battery has the hole for the vent. In your pic, it's at 10 o'clock from the orange / brown date sticker. It's the hole on the side of the battery.

Thanks Guys, much appreciated. I spent about 20 minutes looking everywhere in the compartment for a connection point.
