boxster soft top and window problem
 

This will be a bit long winded, but I want readers to have full information. I am hoping for advice on how to fix the intermittent problem I am having with the soft top and windows in my 1997 Boxster.

* occasionally, but nearly always after hitting a moderate bump in the road one or both of my windows "automagically" partially winds down. Then, using the window up button does nothing or winds it down further.

* stopping the car and opening/closing the soft top seems to "reset" things and the window up/down buttons work again.

* very occasionally the soft top stops working - cannot open/close the roof. It then "automagically" starts working again after several drives. If it does not, removing and reinstalling the roof controller gets it working again.

* I have replaced the roof controller with a new Porsche part and the problem is happening much less often, but is still happening.
