2006 Cayman S - Strange stereo issue
2006 Cayman S
20k mi Got in the Cayman tonight to get dinner and heard a loud sound, almost like thunder. I hadn't started anything yet so it couldn't be the engine. Waited a minute or so and I didn't hear it again so I started the car and it started up normally, but then the loud, intermittent bass sound started again and it was coming out of the large door speakers. It was friggin loud. Played with the radio which was off at first, then I turned it on, ejected the CD, changed to radio function and hit a few other buttons. All to no avail. Shut the car off and still no effect until the car's interior lights timed out. Then all was quiet. The car has the orig radio which has never been messed with. Any comments on how to diagnose?
