Porsche 986 Facelift

Hello ,

I did recently move from UK to Germany and decided keep my beloved 986 with me which I did own for few years and put a lot time and effort into car.

I don't mind driving car with RHD however it's really problematic on small roads specially when I'm trying overtake cars in front.

From my understanding Porsche 986 was design that it's really easy to swap from RHD to LHD assuming without any integration into firewall (at least what I did found on internet)

Is that correct ?

What exactly parts are different between LHD and RHD ?

Did anyone did similar job in past and can share some knowledge ?

Thanks
Joshua

Never did the job, but I have been crawling around a 986 since 2006, so the following is an educated guess, at least at the big rocks you will need to move.

I think you would need a new steering rack, an entire dashboard assembly (minus the instrument cluster, hopefully) and likely a new dashboard wiring harness.

PS: it is interesting that you are looking at this. My son currently lives on Germany, and is very interested in buying a used car from the UK, as the prices are better.

The view is not worth the climb. Sell the car and get another one.

I know that it might be easier to just sold and get LHD but I already imported car and I put to much time and effort into car.
