Smoke on startup

My 2007 Cayman has always been perfect on start up...The last two week I've had to start it just to move around in garage with out really driving. The last two times a puff of blue smoke came out on start up.....Whats up. Best, Mark

My 08 does that. If I drive it around a bit, no smoke. Did it at 60k miles when I got it and still the same at 90+kn no better, no worse. Not a problem.

Thanks Jack, mine has only 28,000 on it. Took it for a good hard drive today...so tomorrow will be the test to see if smoke is done. Best, Mark

Not terribly unusual after being started only to be maneuvered, a good spirited drive is all she needs.

Ideally never start a engine unless you can allow it to reach it's ideal operating temp.

That was it......thanks all for the help. Started it twice now after a good drive and it is smoke free. The best to a great Porsche group of friends. Mark
