I cannot close my 986 with the remote control help!

It is now 3 years that I have my Boxster 986 2.7 from 2001, in this time I have not been able to operate the remote control lock, any of you have any suggestions? The Porsche center is 350 km away:confuso:

Have you tried replacing the batteries in the key?

The switch under the butten on the fob tend to wear out. But you can still lock it in the "traditional" manner (for those of us old enough to remember this) using the key. Just turn the top of the key towards the door jam and the car will be fully locked and the alarm set.

A trick for those of us with fobs with bad switches -- when you're walking towards the car -- to unlock it without using the door lock button on the fob -- unluck either the frunk or trunk. Those button on the fob generally have less use, and so haven't worn out yet. This will unlock the car and the security systems. You can then just press the frunk or trunk lid back down as you walk past it. This saves the need to turn on the ignition within ~15 seconds of opening the door.

If you know how to solder, I believe that it's possible to swap out the switch. While I worked in electronics for decades, I was on the business side and never learned to solder. I don't trust myself to not mess it up.

I tried all the ways I had the buttons replaced too, but nothing, it doesn't work.
