Auxiliary air valve swap 2.7 to 3.2

Hi. I'm currently in the process of swapping a 2000 3.2 into my 2001 2.7 986.
Its just about ready to go in when I noticed it doesn't have the auxiliary air valve on the 3.2 that then connects to the auxiliary air pump in the engine bay.
As far as I know the 3.2 is standard and has not been altered. It has the black plastic air canister and vacuum pipes but not the valve that goes to the pump.
My question is do I swap the valve over so I can keep the auxiliary air pump?
Or do I leave it as it is? And remove the auxiliary air pump.
I am in the UK. I will have to have the 3.2 map put onto the car. Is this because of a year change over and will I need a later map?

I don't know the answer to your 1st question but I don't think you will need change the "map" if you are talking about reprogramming the DME computer. There are very few changes between 2000 &2001

This is true. There aren't many changes at all. It should start and run with the programming for the 2.7 but I'm sure it will need the programming for the 3.2 for the fueling and air mixture to be correct.

I believe you're talking about the secondary air system. If so, it's an emissions system that needs to be in place and working for a smog inspection. Also you will get various codes and a check engine light without it. This is all dependent on whether or not you need a smog inspection to register it over there and if the DME has an emissions program in it. Call Scott at Softronics
about the DME flash. He will give you the straight scoop.
