986 headlight switch replacement

I was having problems with headlight/tail lights functioning properly.
Seems to be somewhat common in my 986S
I replaced it and works fine now. I thought it would be of interest to open the old one to see what failed. See pics and you will see the failure!

Ha! No critter as the switch is sealed. I just popped it open to see what failed. The plastic inside just fell apart.
