Help! What did I break?!
 
I've been working on reinstalling the transmission in Dad's Boxster and I accidentally broke something. It appears to be a cable in a plastic housing. The end I CAN find appears to go into the engine block. I don't know what it is, what it's called, etc.

Sorry. It was a copy and paste from my rennlist post. 99 Boxster 2.5 Tip. Someone over there said it's the dipstick guide tube.

Ah. Easy enough to verify - pull the dipstick and check the tube where it's broken. You WILL need to replace it...
