Need help with electrical issues.
OK, so fairly sure I have two separate issues although it could easily be one.
1st issue is when I open the drivers door, the interior lights come on, and then fade right back out while the door is still open. If I shut the door without locking it, the interior door lights stay on. When i lock it, they fade out to off. I obviously am assuming its a switch in the drivers door, anyone know which one I should look at first ?? 2nd issue is i get a double beep on my alarm at odd times. Driving down a perfectly flat road, sitting still, it even did it while on a rock solid lift in the middle of the night. Most times if I am driving it does NOT seem to coincide with bumps in the road. It will do it while on a smooth section more than it ever seems to do it going over tracks or a pothole or something. Is there any common corrosion points on the wiring a harness or anything to check for ? The thing I don't get is it WILL do it just sitting still in a garage or on a lift. I get a double beep, interior lights on for a sec, and that's it. Anybody found any loose connections or corrosion before ?? And does anybody else have to leave a battery maintainer on ?? Seems like I cant go two months without driving before the battery is damn near dead. Thanks Alan............ |

Retired, finally

Mine has ignition switch issues, which seems to cause electrical issues everywhere, including the climate control. Replacing it is on the list.
Yes, I do have to keep mine on a trickle charger.
