2001 Boxster S won't start

2001 Boxster S won't start. HELP IF YOU CAN!!! Charging battery, lights are strong horn works. Sounds like an auxiliary fan has been running. Can hear it and feel the vibration passenger side fender near windscreen. Could be heater/defroster related, seems to be near cabin air filter.Any fuses to disconnect?? Any ideas Thanks, b rock

When you try to crank it over... does the tachometer needle move at all?

No tach movement would suggest faulty crank position sensor.

Report back...

Does it crank?

We had one that would crank, but not start. Unplugged the faulty MAF and it fired up and drove home.

Thank you for your helpful suggestions. Have it at the shop. Looking to see if the fan sound might be the motor that locks tne fuel door. Will check crank position and report back. b rock

looks like drain holes were clogged. Lots of water under carpets. Alot of actuators were sitting in water. Checking to see which ones were damaged.

Immobilizer sits under the drivers seat -- if its toast -- you'll likely have to get a new one and have it programmed to match the DME at the dealership.

It might be salvageable and repairable if you send it to ECU Doctors.

Many independent shops can program a replacement immobilizer, we do a few each year for the same reason, water damage.

Cheers
