99 Boxster -New brake push rod, boot, and seals

99 Boxster base - I am replacing the brake master cylinder pushrod and boot. In order to disconnect the push rod from the pedal is it necessary to disconnect the heating duct and how difficult is this process. I’m trying to get access to remove the pin on the brake pedal but it’s hard to get to. My next question would be once I remove the pin will the push rod detach from the threaded shaft of the brake booster and remove through the firewall? I have a new seal set from Pelican parts 000 043 204 66. Any advice is appreciated.
