2010 Cayman S 'P1090' Engine Code
I recently had this code come up and have done quite a bit of research. Have a few friends with Porsche code readers as well but they don't give much detail on this code unfortunately. My car is stock except for a Top Gear exhaust. It has almost 80k miles. I believe one of the most common triggers is the MAF. I have taken it off twice and cleaned with the special spray. On the 987.2, one has to also remove the throttle body to get it out as the MAF is one complete unit (sensor is part of it), unlike the 987.1.
Anyway, the engine light reappears after a good day of driving. Car runs perfect though. So I have decided to replace the MAF and see where that goes. My question can anyone say good things about a BOSCH MAF? It's about $120. The genuine Porsche MAF is around $540. BOSCH is supposed to be an OEM replacement, but I wonder if it'd be better to get the real thing here. thanks |
