Overheating issues
I am having over heating problems with my 2005 Boxster. Base model. Tank isn't leaking. Do thermostats fail in Boxsters often? Any help would be appreciated. Also I live in Florida so its always hot.

Overheating is a big problem. This can crack the head. I’d start by removing the front bumper cover and cleaning between the A/C condenser and the radiator. You can’t see between without taking it apart. It will have a ton of crap in there.
Also check the fan is working correctly. Start the car, turn on the A/C and both fans should be running. These fans can fail and may need replacing. Start there. Step 2 is cleaning between the rad and condenser. Don’t wait. |
fyi- mine had a hairline crack on the tank bottom. It didn't leak until the car was well warmed up, and the leakage was small but steady then.
