987 Boxster Central Locking
Guys, I am new to this forum and thought I'd have a crack to see if anyone has struck this problem beforehand. I have a 2006, 987 Boxter that has developed a habit of not locking itself when I first attempt to lock it.
Two issues keep happening: 1st is the central locking mechanism does not activate when I go to drive off. The red light on the centre of the dash does not activate and I have to manually push it, sometimes a few times to get it to lock. If I simply drive off without the red light activated, the alarm "double beeps" every 20-30 seconds. Which is embarrassing. 2nds issue is that when I get out of the car, and go to lock the doors, the system does not activate correctly and once again I get a "double beep". If I immediately then repush the locking key, the system generally works. But it's a pain in the ......as I need to then check the car is locked manually. I suspect that the right hand door mechanism is not working correctly as it sounds different to the left side door. It seems to not initially activate the first time, but then work when I go again. Any thoughts?? Thanks in Advance. Bill (Brisbane, Australia) ![]() |
