Intermittend Coolant Leak

Hello all. First time post here.

I have a 2011 Boxster 987.2 with 94K miles. I am third owner have put about 4k miles on it over the past 4 years. It's a fun car that I keep up at my second home in northern CA. Because it resides at a second home, it can and does sit for extended periods of 2 to three months often at temps of low 50s to high 40s degrees in the garage.

Over the past year I have notice that when I finally drive it after the storage period, it leaks coolant, say a cup or two of fluid after the car is turned off. I replace the lost fluid with distilled water. After two or three drives bringing the car up to operating temp, the coolant ceases to leak. I have looked under the car for the leak and it appears to be leaking from the lower coolant pipe that is on the left side of the car at the rear.

I could imagine the issue is the O ring on the metal end of the flexible line shrinks a bit during storage, but once the car is driven a few times, it swells back and creates the proper seal.

I googled the issue and someone suggested that our pink coolant has some coagulant sealing capabilities, that might be breaking down with age. The coolant looks good, but it could be the original to the car.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue with their Boxster.

Thanks

Check the coolant cap is sealing properly and remember that the coolant to water ratio should be 50/50.

The leak is not coming from the coolant cap. It is coming from a hose under the left side of the car. I have pics of this hose and what it attaches to, but have not yet figured out how to post them (bad me). The hose runs parallel to the bottom of the car and then turns upward 90 degrees and connects to what looks like a black plastic fitting. I first thought it was the coolant reservoir, but I think the reservoirs on the 987.2 is on the top right. Maybe this is part of that, I don't know.

Pressure test cooling system. The leak could be from further up that pipe.

Wondering if anyone can identify this coolant hose on my 987.2 base motor Boxster so I can order the right part. This is where the leak is coming from. The second photo is looking up from where the hose attaches. There does not appear to be any coolant debris on this plastic part, just on the hose where it attaches. Thanks
