Adjusting rear spoiler
This last service has been the disaster that keeps giving. The car is no longer leaking. But we found that they roughly removed one of the wheels and gouged the caliper - the beautiful red calipers that we JUST cleaned up and sprayed new clear coat on them. Argh.
Now we just noticed that the rear spoiler no longer lines up and is now rubbing on the trunk. We KNOW it was not like this when we gave it to them, because after we made the calipers look so good, we took a LOT of pictures of the car - and one of them actually captured the trunk. Note that in addition to removing the engine and transaxle, they also replaced the rear latch for the trunk. I'm not sure which one of those, or both, required taking off the spoiler. But I have to believe one of them did. How do we re-align it? ![]() |

I actually have my bumper off (01 986 S) and the spoiler apart. I'm not seeing anything that allows for adjustment. I would note that the mounting screw holes in the two posts of the driving mechanism is off center, but the posts don't seem to have any adjustment capability, so strike 1 there. And the securing plate (986 504 251 00) has only round holes from what I can tell, so doesn't seem like any potential there either, so strike 2. What I AM wondering though is whether your upper part (986 504 609 01) has simply become dislodged from the bracket?? I'm just a noob though..
Maybe if you lift the spoiler and check real close to see if the upper part is mounted properly, might be all it is?? Last edited by pelsteve1; 06-26-2024 at 10:03 PM.. |

It was easy. Just raise the spoiler, loosen the two 5mm allen bolts that hold the spoiler, slide, and reposition.
