Key stuck in door lock?

1997 base boxster, put key in door lock and turned key to lock position, I felt the key rotate a little farther then normal but the car did lock. Inserted key to unlock, the key rotated but did not unlock and the key could not be removed.

What could hold the key from removal???

Ended up braking the drivers side window trying to get the car unlocked

I will pull the door panel off (now that I can get in the car) and see what is up. I replaced the motor drive and two micro switches about 10 months ago when the window quit dropping when pulling the door handle. I also lubed the lock with graphite lock lube in early fall. "Weird **** man" as a friend of mine would say.

Talked to a Porsche tech at the dealer. Ordered a new tumbler for the door lock. Will have to rekey as well. Spent over $200 just a year ago getting extra keys made now those will be conversation pieces.

A locksmith said "spun the tumbler"

The car is my dad's and I help him figure stuff out because were we live there's not a lot of Porsche's. Last night I locked the car for him, the car key buttons don't work and we meant to get that fixed. We've been using the door lock option since he got it, and everything was fine. I went and locked the car but once it locked, the key wouldn't go back to place and I couldn't get it out. The roof is on, and the windows are up.

I don't want us to have to break the window to get the locksmith fixed. what can i do??? I've already tried to wiggle in as much WD-40 as I could, and that didn't do much. The car is a Porsche Boxster 1997, and we don't know wich one out of the three different ones that year. Like I said, there aren't many Porsches here.

Please someone helpppppppppp. We're gonna contact a locksmith but I wanna be sure nothing else can be done before.

Call a locksmith. A locksmith should be able to break in without damaging anything.
