I'm working on removing the engine from my 2002 Boxster S, and while removing the air compressor retaining bolts noticed a severed cable (blue arrow) hanging next to the air compressor in front of the engine. It looks like it used to be routed through a nearby clip (red arrow) and then into a black plastic connector (orange arrow) protruding from a metal box that itself sticks out from the front of the engine.
Looks like there are two wires inside the cable sheathing.
Any ideas what this might be?
