Hello, my transmission have an oil leak. I've cleaned all the cover to find where the oil leak come from, and discover that is from one screw on the right side, you can see in these pics I took:

What is this screw? Do you know is has got seal ring?

Maybe a photo with a wider view might help other members identify the plugs. On a Tiptronic there is a plug in that area for the final drive fluid. I really don't know from the photo what it is for. Why don't you get a drain pan and go for it and remove the plug and inspect what you have to do to correct it. JW

According to the diagram that you has provided that sure looks like the right bolt and it is close to the shift lever. however to repair the leak i guess you would still have to remove it.

Number 1 in you diagram looks like the reverse light switch and these components look to be in the rear section while the photo of the bolts in question seem to be in the front section. Take another look under your vehicle again and see where that switch is in relation to the bolts in question. Here are some more photos.

Thnaks for pics jwgn777. These photos you post, is from a 996 because this screw it's in the opposite side of my boxster transmission. For those people who don't know boxster and 996 differential are differents in both cars, things are in opposite sides.

In the second photo I asumme that is the screw marked with number 40, but there are 2 screw in my transmission, why only appear it one in photo?

To solved this problem IŽll remove the screw, but I thought this screw had an O ring to replace and doesn't appear it in diagram.
