981 radio knob

I have both a 2014 Cayman & Boxster S. The radio knobs on the Boxster are plastic with rubber around the outside and the rubber has gotten sticky. The knobs on the cayman are all plastic.

Are the all plastic knobs aftermarket? Or are there 2 types Porsche has used?

I see on ebay there are aftermarket knobs made in china.

Typically the aftermarket ones are plastic and won't deteriorate like the original knobs which get sticky. You can try to clean the sticky knobs with isopropyl alcohol.

Over time, they will do that.
