rear window

What is the best thing to use to clean the rear plastic window on a regular basis? I have the stuff to clean it if it starts to cloud but am not sure of what to use just cleaning up the car. With my luck i would end up spraying it with window cleaner and the whole thing would melt out of the top.

Go to www.carcareonline.com and ask owner Larry Reynolds this question. He is not only one of the country's great authorities on (and sources of) car-car products, he coincidentally happens to be a Boxster expert and is always quick to help.

If you are careful not to get any on the top fabric, Meguires lightest duty liquid cleaner wax works real well. Years ago, that's what they sold for plastic window cleaner. I use a feather duster or wash the car first before touching the plastic with cleaner/wax.

Wash it carefully with just your hand and lots of running water. Usually gets it mighty clean. If the scratches are light, you can use the old yachtsman's trick of hand rubbing the window with white paste toothpaste. The very mild abrasive (designed for teeth, remember) is much softer than most everything available at an auto parts store. HTH
