Good Porsche Mechanic in Southern CA

I'm looking for a good Porsche Mechanic in the Southern CA area. I have a 99 Boxster with 66K miles and I need a service. The dealer, Pacific Porsche, wants $1,100 for a service. A place called Dutch Street Porsche, which I've heard good things about, wants $800. Any other suggestions in Southern CA (South Bay area)? $800 is still a lot...

I believe the 60,000 mi. service includes such things as flushing out the brake system and replacing the brake fluid and at not an inexpensive rate. While I agree that having your brakes looked at by a proffessional is always a good idea, changing/bleeding your brakes is pretty simple to do at home. They also recommend flushing the coolant somewhere in the grand scheme of things. I don't remember when that occurs and I don't have the manual in front of me. I might be tempted to do that myself as well. Change the plugs? I'm sure they get a big number for that. I've never done it, but I will look in there and see what's entailed before I let some 20 year old yank around on the motor. You can chnge the oil yourself for less than $80. What do they get?

The plugs are easy, you need to jack up the back of the car and remove the rear wheels, look inside the wheel wells and there they. You need to remove the coil wire and then the coil on each plug and then the plug.

Dutch Treat Porsche is an outstanding service facility.

You'll be well treated there.

I know a shop that only deals with Porsche cars. It is near San Dimas. The price is very reasonable and they are very friendly too. This guy has at least 20 years of experience in Porsche. If you are interested, let me know, I can give you his number.
