Porsche Crest Throttle Sticking

Hi Everyone!
I just bought a 98 Boxter. It' has 49000 miles on it. It has a new top and Boxter S brakes. Needless to say, I'm pretty happy with it so far. I've run into one problem though. The throttle seems to be sticking. The car wants to jump to 3000 rpm when I let off the pedal. Sometimes it stays there, sometimes it will SLOWLY drop back down. I'm assuming this is some sort of spring or cable lubrication problem but I honestly don't know anything about the car mechanically yet. Any suggestions for where I should start?

Also - I'd like to thank everyone for putting the links to the cupholders. I know it's silly but I really want some in my car!

Thanks!
Scott

First thing I would do is remove the engine lid and look at the cable. Should look like this. Jeff
