boxter audio question

Hello, I have an 01 Boxter with the single in dash cd player and all speakers located up front in the dash or door. When using the fader for the rear speakers nothing happens do to no rear speakers. Anyone know what type of speakers with the proper amplification and ohm load would be needed to add speakers to this unit and also where to mount them at?

I bought a kit from tweeks.

Approx. $270 +/-

It took me a couple of hours to install. Mostly because I took a lot of breaks and did all the work myself.

It would have gone much quicker with someone to hand me tools. The directions in the kit are poor. Search around for better instructions. The best I found were on a Boxster hacks page.

I would recommend the kit unless you are particularly adept at this stuff. It was very helpful to have all the hardware line up without any fight at all. Plus the wiring is correct.

You will need only basic tools. a hot glue gun and random screwdrivers as well as some electrical tape.

You do not need a dremel as some suggest.
