Boxster S/Mileage question...PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi all,

I test drove a 2000 S this morning. The interior was in great condition, outside had a few rock chips and the "plug" on the front bumper was missing (the little hole to the left of the license plate)

The good news is that this car has had two owners. The big hitter for me is that this car has 105K on the engine.

I obviously want to take it to my local Porsche dealer and have them run a diagnostic on it, but my question is...if this car has been maintained correctly over the last 4 years, is 100K something to balk at? How long can these puppys run if they have been taken care of?

The feeling of that power was unreal...I just don't want to make a stupid decision. Any help you could provide would be huge.

What is a fair price for a bad boy like this? I just don't want to get taken to the cleaners.....is 26K too much?

thanks fellas.

IMO
Spend 3k more, find a one owner, 25-40k example and enjoy.

100k is excessive for any vehicle 4 years old.

Thumbs down

I would not buy it for 26K with a 100K engine. I think you can get a decent S for 30K for under 50K worth of mileage usage; traderonline, cars.com, or ebay. I have a 2000 S, but I bought mine for 34K with 17K miles. Very good considering that it was 4 yr old car, and one previous owner. Good luck! - rivertiger
