Smoking Boxster

Just a quick note,

A smoking early Boxster came into the shop. With over 100K miles, and running on less than 6 cyl, it seamed destined for some major engine work. Instead of being broken rings, bad cyl, etc, it was the oil separator on top of the motor. The diaphragm inside of the separator was allowing oil to pass through and into the intake, subsequently fouling the plugs. The replacement is a redesigned unit.
