Boxster starter issue??

Hello,
I am new to the form, just bought a 1999 Boxster, quick question about the starter. It has a new battery, but does not have a smooth sound when starting the car, and a few times I could hear a spin sound, but it did start okay!

Also when I turn the key, it takes a few times to kick in, but all the lights come on fine in the dash!

Any input would be great!

If you have electrical problems and the cause is the key turning then you have a bad ignition switch. A common problem.

Thanks for the reply, I need to go thru the whole car, that will be my first place I will start!
