Gt3 seats - lowering the seat, etc.
Cross posted with PPBB:
I've been a lurker for a long time, and have extensively searched the archive. I am 6'4", around 240#. The fit is tight in my 2001 S. I definitely want to get my head below the roll hoops, and I would PREFER (not mandatory) to have sliders, so my 5'3" wife can drive the car (a man needs a margarita once in a while!). I don't care if the seats don't match; I will keep the passenger seat stock. I have questions: (1) GT3 seats bolted down lowers seat 2.5" with Robert's bracket. With sliders, it lowers it 1.5" - is this right? (2) how do the seat belts work? Do I need some type of harness? What is the best way to get a harness and 3/4/5/6 point belts in the car. (driver side only) (3) How low can you go with Sparco Milanos or Recaro SPGs? Are these bolt in? Can you use sliders? (4) one user here said he was 6'5" (stav) and has a manual adjust stock seat which was lower? Anyone else had this experience? (5) if you have pics of any arrangement here, please post 'em or email them to me: motola 'at" alumni.haas.org - I would try more out, but I am in NM, and there are just not a lot of Boxsters here. I know about the center console delete, and am considering it seriously. (a) I have a painted center console (speed yellow) - is this an issue with the kit? Thanks so much.

I am 6'3" and with gt3 seat bolted to floor, my head is 2" below roll hoops, out of the wind and diggin it. I have never had a convert with so much head room and I can see lots of sky instead of windshield moulding. very nice.

Thanks! You can see it in the pictures! Do you have the center console delete as well? I would do this in a second, but my wife (who likes driving the car and definitely knows how) is 5'4" (on a good day). I remain perplexed, but your post/pic helps a lot. BTW, nice looking ride - I love the interior color.
