WANTED: Seal Grey Metallic Hardtop with hardware for 2001 Boxster DFW area

Hi, I'm looking for a reasonably priced, used hardtop in Seal Grey metallic for my 2001 Boxster with necessary hardware to connect it. I'd like, like new condition, and preferably located within a couple hundred miles of the DFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth) area so I could pick it up in person. If you have one you'd like to sell, please send pics, condition detail and price to me at navarro@flash.net Thanks and take care, Mike

Hi TP, I don't know if it was a special order color or a standard color then, but it is the original color of my 2001. Take care, Mike

I thought that optional color started in 2002, but I found a 2001 order guide and it is listed for 2001. We had a local guy with a 2002 seal gray. He got a good deal on a top but it was black. The black top looked good on his car.

Hi TP, I've actually been thinking about a black one as well. There is a nice black one on ebay right now that I'm considering. I think it would look ok since I"m used to the black soft top. Take care, Mike

Can I ask what you paid? I need one and have not been able to find a reasonably priced used one.

Sure, I don't mind. I paid $1600.00 delivered to Brandywine which includes a brand new top, the spinlocks to mount the top to my car, and shipping in the factory crate. I watched ebay and they seem to be selling there for around $1300.00 (average) used and then you would have to tack on shipping. Although some of the ones on ebay include the stand and cover. Brandywine did not have seal grey however, and I opted for the black metallic and think I will like the two tone effect. If not, I'll just have it painted. I have ads running for several days on some of the forums for a used one and I didn't have much success that route. I did have one gentleman offer me one for $1075.00 plus shipping for a Arctic Silver with a cover and stand but I didn't take it at the time and it is now on ebay and is over $1200.00 already. Take care, Mike
