Usually a bad regulator.

I have a similar issue to this. One the passenger's side, I pull the door handle up a little to trigger the window "inch down", and I hear the motor, but the window doesn't move. I can put the window down with the button inside the car, but I can see that in the beginning of the movement, the window doesn't move down as smoothly as normal. It is somewhat "tugged" down.

Is this a case of replacing the entire regulator, or are there pieces in there that can be easily replaced? If the regulator is the issue, what is the approximate replacement time, and does there happen to be an online instruction guide?

If the regulator is your problem then it is replaced. There are no parts.
