Key remote not working 2000 Boxster
 

Got the car out for the spring :cool: , everything's great except key remote won't lock/unlock doors or trunk. So far, I've:

read the manual :D , I understand it went into standby mode. Locked, unlocked doors multiple times, and have driven the car several times so the key's been in the ignition.

Replaced batteries in BOTH keys, the red light flashes fine, and the car doesn't do the double horn thing, so I think the alarm is fine. Driven car and used key in lock since replacing batteries.

Central locking seems to work fine. Key will unlock doors fine. Just no response when you push the buttons on key. No water in car, car is garaged all winter.

Ideas :confused:

You need to takle the car to a shop with a PST-2 or 3.

They need to reprogram the remotes. They can read them out from the stored information and re-install them.

I kept the battery maintainer on all winter, and the battery never died or was unhooked. Why is it the keys need recalibrated? Thanks!
