DAmn check engine light! OBD code P0453???

Hi,

My check engine light decided that it would make an appearance this morning so I hooked up a code reader and got the following DTC:

"P0453- Evap System Pressure Sensor: Signal too high."

I was hoping someone could help me make some sense of what this could be pointing at and how to remedy the situation. Im not sure but I thought it might have something to do with the fuel system??

Just a bit of background...I filled the car up with fuel the other night and drove a few miles home and parked the car. 2 or 3 days have gone by with the car sitting in the garage when I decided that I would take it out for a spin and then noticed that the light had come on. I did remove the gas cap and had a look at it and it looks fine. I cleared the code afterwards and managed to take the car for a drive but after parking it at a show I restarted the car and on came the CEL light again. Where do i go from here??

Any leads would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks in advanced.

Jeff.

You could have a short in your harness. It is a tank pressure sensor code. If you have a fax number I can send you a print out of how to check it. Email me at smith_motorworks@knology.net
