Power Window Problem

My 1999 Boster driver side window is acting up.. when the handle is lifted half way, the window doesnt retract more that about 1mm... the power window switch works perfectly and the window goes up and down with no problems... so would you say the regulator went bad????

Your regulator is bad. The cable is stretched out. time to replace it. fortunately, they are only about $200.

Have the window all the way up when you change it. disconnect the battery before you remove the door panel. especially if you have a side airbag.

The driver's window on my '98 Boxster is doing something similar to what is described above. My battery recently went completely dead while the car was in storage for the winter. The window was acting up before I stored the car but nothing like what it's doing now.

Now the window won't lower automatically when I open the door. It goes up and down, seemingly at it's own will. When I put the window up with the manual switch and it reaches the top seal, it will automatically lower down three inches-about what it should when I raise or lower the top. Sometimes, when I open the door, it will go down three inches to the same point. Sometimes, when I close the door, the window will go up to the seal then down several inches.

I've tried "initializing" the window with no result.

I've also tried exorcising the car with religious ceremony. Still no result.

Does this sound like a regulator??
