Hey i Just bought a 97 Boxster on Thursday and i have some ?

ok i just bought htis car, and i love it, exhaust sounds so awesome, i didnt know they sound so agressive cause i never hear boxster owners around PV or Torrance nailing it to the floor. Well i have a question, how does the spoiler work? I have a red light on my dash board thats RED and it looks like a image of the rear of the car with the spoiler sticking out and an arrow pointing down at it....it stays on for about 10 seconds after i start the car.

Not really sure *why* it's like that, but it's normal.

It only goes out once you start moving the car forward. There is a little comment about it in the Owner's Manual.

Yes, mine is up at 75 and down at 45. At least according to the manual.

Not quite

1.) It goes up at 75mph
2.) it retracts at 50 mph
3.) note - you are basically mooning the cops :-(
4.) I dont recall that idiot light. May indicate a malfunction

And read your owners' manual - that nd 1000s of other questions are answered in there. You might also read the 986faq.

the spolier light stays on until you are moving about 5 mph as said above. it should go off after that. as far as why it stays on? never really looked into that. my geuss is that its not getting any signals from the wheel speed sensors so it kicks the light on until it sees a signal.
