Coming in the future: 101 Projects for Your Porsche Boxster!

It is with great pleasure that I officially announce my next book project. "101 Projects for Your Porsche Boxster / Cayman" will build upon the runaway success of the other Porsche & BMW books that I have written over the past several years. Focusing on both repair and performance modifications, this 101 book will tackle the more advanced and confusing aspects associated with the complicated, modern cars.

Some sample projects I am already working on:

- 996/997 motor swap
- Brembo big brake kit install
- PSS9 kit install
- Litronic headlamp upgrade
- Rear window replacement
- Short shift kit install
- Hardtop retrofit
- Transport system installation
- Stereo upgrade / rear speakers
- Engine removal
- Clutch replacement
- Engine teardown & overhaul
- Performance software upgrades
- Supercharging
- Convertible top repair
- Spoiler Installation
- Strut bar
- Interior trim kit
- Roof replacement w/glass window
- Exhaust upgrades

And much, much more! Sorry to say though, that these things take a long time to write, so we're probably looking at a publication date close to the holiday season of 2008!

If you have any suggestions for projects to be included in the book, please let me know...

-Wayne

Sounds like a great book! I would recommend some easier projects too for the beginner. I really like the simple projects in the 911 101 projects book to confirm that I am doing things correctly (i.e. plugs, jack stands, decklid shocks).

What ever happened to the "spec Boxster" group? I know some cars have been built for such a thing. Maybe check with them for some ideas? ..maybe there's a chapter on turning your Boxster into a spec Boxster?

Even with "only" what you've got, add me to the list of future purchasers!

That would be cool to have a section on. "RobertinAgoura" posted about the first meeting over a year ago. I don't think he has posted since.

the audi relay and the disabling of the top down feature are both less than five minute projects.

If you search on www.ppbb.com you will find them in the archives.

you will need to review several posts for the relay part # there was a little dispute some time back.

Porsche updated their litronic install instructions with the 2002 boxster. Ask me how I know this. Not many changes.

Has to do with the white wire connection. Newer boxster have white/black and the connector is on the drivers side now. The kit black box still mounts on the passenger side, which requires the use of 4 foot section of white wire to connect to the white/black in the connector (pin2 harness side).

And I'd be happy to proof read this book, in exchange for keeping it...... Come on Wayne; you have more fans waiting in anticipation than Stephen King. Or John Grisham. Or the next issue of Excellence.... Real writers are "Driven".... hawhaw.

Hmm, I've been working on this thing for two years? Gosh, time flies. Well, it's due Feb 1st at my publisher, so I've been working on it quite a lot lately. It *will* be out in 2009, with a 996 book and a MINI Cooper book shortly thereafter. It's coming along nicely!

Great. May I "pre-order" a copy? Signed, of course. You may dedicate it "to Andy, whose Patience and Gentle Encouragement should be an Example to Us All..." hardeharhar.... I believe that you still have my payment & shipping info on file. Merry Christmas, and don't work TOO hard, Wayne.
Best Wishes,
Andy

You wouldn't happen to be selling that hot-rod Boxster when you're done with it, would you?

Wayne,
That's just the kind of project that I've been waiting 2 years (for your book) to do! I don't understand why Porsche didn't include an oil temp guage in the 986 cars; but second to the tach, it's most important one, to me. Then the fuel gauge, then the trip-meter, lastly the speedo.....
