Boxster Cliff Notes

Hello All-considering a Boxster purchase in the next year or so. Anyone want to give me the cliff notes on the line, doubt I would go much newer that 2003 or so. I have owned 2 911's a 944 and currently own a 928 so I am not a newbie to the P car mark. Just looking for something a little more modern. TIA.

I am new to the Boxster myself. Always been a GM man. Love the Boxster. Like any machine a few quirks. Mine is used 2001 with32000 miles bought last spring with an additional 3000 and 2000 mile road trips, plus local fun drives on top of that . I have had only minor issues. Not an S, but quick enough for fun. and fun on the twisties. There is lots of good info. on this forum, but don't be overwelmed by the concerns people come here with.

Cliff Notes:

Amazing car, if a little low powered. But the "feel" is there (The whole is greater than the sum of it's parts).

If possible, buy 2000 or newer. (2003 starts the glass rear window.)

RMS is overblown.

Get a thorough PPI.

Seriously...it's not that different than any other Porsche in that it's worth taking the time to buy smart. Really, for the most part, they've been quite reliable.

Take some time to read info on this board. Rennlist.com forums have a pretty good Boxster board, too.

FWIW I may be selling my Boxster this summer. ..dammit.

Bah! It's prime SC selling season, it will go.

Did you try ebay? I never seem to actually sell the car with the auction but the exposure in ebay usually gets a buyer.
Just a thought.

Now that the Boxster is back, I'm going to try more selling options. I tried eBay last fall, but it was fall. I've been watching and noticed an SC Targa with like miles sold for a tick over $10k. I'd probably take that...

We've totally hijacked this thread.

I hadn't driven mine for three weeks!!! That's way too long to go without driving a Boxster. I've been driving the old SC...in every kind of weather. Ugh! Man what a difference between the two...

Post video of the new exhaust!
