Head Gasket Replacement

I'm pretty sure my engine is shot. Just in case I'm planning on doing a compression test but given how it went out I do belive it is the head gasket. If anyone has any helpful hints on keeping the cams in alignment/adjustment that would be great! The shop foreman and service advisor mentioned that that would likely be my biggest problem. Are there any other big hurdels I should know about, such as special tools that only Porsche sells for way to much $$$$ ?

Thanks in advance,
