Windows stuck part way down - help
 

99 boxster, with the top up the windows won't go up past the 3 inches open position used for opening/closing the top. The windows will go down.

With the top down, the windows will go all the way up and down.

It's as if it thinks the top is not fully closed. But it is fully closed.

Any ideas ?

Check the roof micro switch. When it becomes loose the windows will fail to operate

where the latch is to tie down the roof fully when closed theres a switch. if you pop open the latch but don't let down the roof then you can push your finget into the switch.they wear very quick so push it in as far as it will go and hold it there and try closing the windows and if they close then your micro switch is worn down. if it is this and you can a quick fix then put a piece of card or folded up paper on the top of the latch and this will push the switch in fully and give you temperary use of your windows.
