stereo codes i'm looking to buy a boxster cdr-220 and was told the stereo needs to be installed in its original car and brought to the dealer for unlocking. anyone know if the code can be obtained with just the serial number on the stereo? any other way around the problem? thanks |

I don't know about if a particular 220 needs to be installed in a particular car, but, you can unlock the stereo with the just serial number code. |

Becker, for a fee, will provide you with the code if you have the serial number. http://www.beckerautosound.com/Code_request/Code%20Request%20Form.htm Also a cooperative Porsche dealer can provide the code if you have the serial number. renntech.org also has Becker code information. |

If you supply the serial number to Loren at http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showforum=24 , he will give you the code to unlock. |

I wonder what can be done to make the panel light brite. I have this stereo in a 964 and it is so dim you caint see it in daylite. |

that's great. thanks for the help for dim panels, if the issue is the viewing angle, you can send the face plate to becker for $100 and they will inverse the colors so its more readable from the side |
