buying tip boxster 2001
Hi is been amazing check prices of boxster in the web they are cheap now! anyway long ago i remember research about boxster and remember reading that avoid-99 model for common leaking engines and paint failing about some cars from finland or something like that anyway i found a 2001 2.7 5 speed with 90k miles for 10k sound like good deal ! before buying it like to hear some feedback about the year and engine ? any areas look for problems common issues !
or will be better wait and save 15k and try get me something newer and better?what is the best model year with not issues with 15k you can get? |

Sounds about right. There really aren't that many problems with these cars that one year is so much better than another. In general the S is a much better performing car.

ok so how many miles can 2.7 2000 handle 200k ? i just don't want to buy a car and next day find out if leak oil and oil and oil like they said is common of the 2.5 ? and what make 2.7 2000-2001 less power than the 2.7 2002-2003? i foind a 2002 s model for 13k 89kmiles or this 2000 2.7 90k miles for 10k will worth 3 k more for s? or not really?

I've known people with 2.7s and 250k miles. They maintain them well (oil every 5k) and drive them frequently and on many long trips. There is no guarantee the one you are looking at won't fail tomorrow. Would be the same for any brand/model car of that age and miles. You are looking at older cars with lots of miles and Porsche parts and labor isn't cheap.
I've had 2 (2.5 and 3.2) and there isn't a significant difference in fun factor to me...but then I try to stay close to legal and I don't race or AX. |
