Erratic Idle P Code P1502

Coincidence? Perhaps But Annoying as HELL!

I was trying out the latest software 6.0 from Durametric on my 2000 2.7 Boxster when all of a sudden it started Idling very erratically. VERY rough. I pulled the following code,

P1502:
Porsche fault code 412 - DVE fault during spring test exceeds limit value

When I reset the code the car levels out and runs normally.

However, when I shut off the motor and start it up again I get the same code and same erratic idle.

Any thoughts? Is this a DIY?

The position of the throttle is controlled by a digital position controller which emits a pulse-width-modulated (PWM) duty cycle and a direction bit.
After the output stage has been deactivated, the throttle is brought into emergency air position by means of two springs. This return of the throttle must take place within a certain time. If this time is exceeded, a fault is stored in the memory.

Tired or broken spring.

UPDATE

I took the car to the dealer and they replaced the entire throttle body.

$1670, OUCH. On the bright side the car seems to respond a little better and I'm getting 2 MPG more on the freeway.

Service Writer said part cost $1,200.

Hopefully this will be it for a while
