The PO131,137,151 and 157 Codes:

My 986 recently popped up with those codes. I know I've read about this before. Could be a wiring issue, MAF issue.

All 4 sensors are not that old. I originally replaced one of them only seeing the PO151 code to start (Too stupid to scroll down to see the rest of them).

Takes about 15 minutes of driving. No running issues, mpg is still really good. I've been looking for intake leaks etc. Kinda racking my head over this one. Anyone recall any common issues that 986's or even 996's might have had with this? I could throw a new MAF at it I guess?

Any advise would be great.

Dan

I lightly cleaned the MAF last night with a little warm water. Put it back in today. My OBDII cable is "lost" according to a buddy of mine, so I have to wait for another in the mail. Off to the local parts store to clear the codes. MAF didn't look dirty, air cleaner looked fine.

Oil seperator maybe?

Still using the generic OBDII scanner from parts store. Still learning how to use it correctly. All 4 codes still there of course, but before I cleared them, I kept scrolling down and found two more, P1117 and P1121, heaters for the O2's. Hmm, one is brand new and the other 3 are only a year or so old.

Maybe a short in the harness?

I'll keep checking and post back here. Hopefully I'll figure it out and this will make a good reference for someone else with same/similar issues.

Cleared codes, drove home, no CEL.....yet.

After a slightly longer drive (20 minutes) the CEL light came back on. I'm sure all the same codes.

Other possible items after more searching:

Bad gauge cluster
Old, worn out cats

Car does have 101k miles on it, exhaust is all original that I can tell. Runs perfect, but I also have the brake wear light and ABS lights on. Just replaced the 4 pad sensors (Old ones tested good).

Could also be the VSS, I'll know more once I can run the data logger hopefully this week.

If anyone has any other ideas toss them in. I can't imagine I'm the first to run into this issue.

I got my cable in the mail last night. Ran the data logger, cleared the stored codes, tested the O2's which all passed. I have a MAF on order, I am thinking that's the issue. I'll see if I can run the data logger with some drive time this weekend. I'm hoping to get the MAF today or tomorrow.
