Cayman Oil Consumption?

I did a search and came up with little. A friend of mine at work has a '06 Cayman S Tip. He asked me if I had any ideas why his 22,000 mile car is using oil? Said he sees oil stains behind his car where the exhaust pipes are, back of car gets oily... Do these engines have and known issues? like guides problems? Thanks in advance, Jon

The allowance for oil consumption is really high on these engines. That being said- rarely do you see a 22,000 mile vehicle using a quart/1000 miles. The allowance is even greater than that.

not burning oil. 22k, take it to the dealer and let them sort it out if under warranty. Don't often see a "burning oil" complaint. Is the coolant the right color?
