Behind the seats storage compartment removal - 2006 Boxster 987?
Is it necessary to remove the storage area behind the seats to access the four plastic screws on the carpet/insulating cover? If so, how do you remove this storage component.
I need to access the front engine panel in order to replace my belt. Thanks. |

I have Bose rather than the storage box, but the process should be the same. You have to remove the Bose speaker to get to the plastic screws on the front panel.
Put your top in service mode. The storage box should have 2 quarter sized clips holding it in. Flip the tab on the clip up and twist 90 deg counter clockwise to release. You can leave the clip out or leave it in the bin and move the bin out of the way. Once the storage box is released, you should be able to get to the front plastic screws w/o having to remove the carpet over the engine cover.
