Dallas Watercooled Expert needed
My Cousin is buying a Boxster in Dallas area this Saturday. (2002 Non S with 66K miles)
zip code where the car is located 75205 (Highland park) I'm wondering if anyone close at hand to Dallas is willing to listen to the car before he buys it, and then drives it home 500 miles. Primarily I need someone that has heard the IMS bearing death rattle before. That's primarily my only worry. Thanks! Richard in KC (Now I get to learn the watercooled engines too!)

Sorry, the only folks I know of in Dallas that I would trust would be Callas Sr. in Sealy, Texas.

Texas is a big ol' state. I fact you have to try driving it either north to south or east to west to really understand the scope of just how big it is. Saying Sealy Tx is close to Dallas is like saying San Francisco is close to LA, Or Chicago is close to St Louis, or New York is close to Washington DC. I'm not quite sure I can convince my cousin (or the owner of the car) to drive 4 hours further south on a test drive to get someone to listen to the engine at idle. But thanks for the thought! P.S. when's the boxster book going to be published? I'm going to need a copy of that soon... ![]() Richard
