Suspension Knock
We have all heard and will experience having to replace the suspension pieces on the Boxter. Built like crap. I recently replaced my bushings with the poly ones sold on the aftermarket. After about a year they have started to squeak just a little and I wondered why don't they put grease fittings on these anymore. SO, I drilled and tapped them and put small fittings in them and pumped them with grease. This fixed the squeaking and they perform perfectly after another year on the car. I am beginning to wonder if I will ever have to replace them again.

Very cool! Do you have some more details, like where you got the fittings from, what size hole you had to drill, what thread / pitch you used to tap, and how long this took?
thx, Wayne

I had the same squeaking issue on one of my lower control arms, and that's what the shop near me did. They told me I would probably eventually need to replace them, but it took care of the squeaking for sure. Next time I'm under there, I'll check to see if I can get a picture of what they did.

Zerk fittings bought from auto parts store. 12 of them in a box for $8. A 3/16ths drill bit-$3. And a 1/4-28 tap- $4. 1 hour to do 12 of them. Drilled all of them so I don't have to take the wheels off to grease them.
