Really bad vibration @ 3200 RPM
It's shaking the whole car. I've noticed it for a year on the road, but in nuetral it's like someone pulled a couple of plug wires. With the drive by wire, it's tough to hold a steady RPM, maybe good thing.
What do you think? |

What, if any, codes are being popped by the computer?

Thank you for asking. I just erased them, but I have a bad O2 sensor ahead of cat on no 1 bank plus the check eng light code. We'll see if they come back when I start the car. That's it, besides a driver belt code which I don't understand.
I don't understand the DBC because the seat belt light goes out when the belt is latched, but the airbag light does (did) not. I assume the switch in the buckle knows something is the belt light goes out. BTW, I cleaned the buckle using one of Warren's old electrical cleaning formulas. I hope this works for awhile as money is extremely tight. Edit: All lights are clear for the moment. I don't know if I can get to the smog station before the O2 acts up or not. Any suggestions? The code says the O2 heater is not working. All this tells me is that once the car is hot, the O2 sensor is working. But, I sure could be wrong about that. The seat belt error may be caused by a passenger seat sensor problem?
The O2 sensor fault is common - it means the O2 sensor needs to be replaced. I recommend only using OEM ones for reasons I mention here:http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/19-FUEL-02_Sensor/19-FUEL-02_Sensor.htm -Wayne

All codes erased and stayed off. So, I took off for the test only smog station (see below).
I only worked on the driver's buckle and the air bag light is off. AFA the vibration, it's no longer there. The thing runs like a champ. So, I will watch for the codes and keep my repair schedule up to date from now on. I'm sure the O2 code will reappear. And I guess the vibration along with a faulty sensor. Meanwhile, I got smogged today and passed! Major deal for me with money being tight. |
