New Boxster owner has gas---------smell?
I am a proud owner of a 99 boxster that I bought on Monday. I was driving it tonight and whenever I would stop I would get a small gas vapor smell. It is not coming from the engine area and it only has about a 1/4 tank of fuel in it. The gas cap is tight. Anyone out there ever had this same problem? Don't want to watch it burn to the ground.

One of the lines to the breather system may be cracked and/or broken. Do you have a check engine light from the tank sensor? That typically senses problems in the vacuum system like this.

Thanks Wayne, I do have an engine light that just popped on. I'll check the vent system for leaks. Matt.
