Shock Replacement
Wayne has already posted the procedure for replacing your shocks and springs, link below:
Pelican Technical Article: Replacing Shocks & Springs - 986 Boxster (1997-04) - 987 Boxster (2005-08) I'm about to bite this bullet, anyone have any advice, recommendations or suggestions? Anyone try it and wish they had just taken the car to their local wrench?

If you're a pretty dedicated home mechanic, it shouldn't be too bad. If this is your first project on the Boxster, or if the most you've done is an oil change, you might consider having it done.

I've done Oil Changes, brake pads and rotors, along with a long list of interior mods.
I read in Wayne's article that a bit of suspension needs to be removed to get to the shock. I remember back in my high school days replacing rear shocks in my '79 Mustang without even having to jack the car up, No doubt the Boxster needs a little more prep work.

The article basically says it all. I would just be extra careful not to scratch your paint pulling out the shocks. Place a towel or some other buffer there for added protection. Other than that, it should be relatively straightforward...
